First Ketterer Kunst Auction Entirely Online

art.auctions

Hamburg (kk) - The date September 2, 2006, is a first at art.auctions by Ketterer Kunst: the first auction to be held entirely online. From 4 pm German time on that date, around 750 objects carrying estimates ranging between € 40 and € 4400* will all be sold at an auction of Art of the 19th Century / Modern Art via the internet. The main aim of this live auction to be held by art.auctions is to bring the fascinating world of art up close to a young public. With this innovative approach, art.auctions, part of the Ketterer Kunst Network, is using the internet as the cutting-edge medium through which we meet our clientele where you like to be.

Apart from six decorative bathroom tiles (format: 20 x 20cm; estimate: € 4200) designed by Salvador Dalí, the auction stars an oil painting by Heimrad Prem, whose work is currently on show in the Munich exhibition “Gruppe Spur” at Villa Stuck in Munich. He painted “Evi” in a vibrant palette c. 1961. Measuring 70 x 100 cm, this work carries an estimate of € 4400, making it the most expensive lot of the auction.

On the whole the online auction will concentrate on 20th and 21st-century art, with some 19th-century works as an added attraction. Further, a few marine pieces are to go under the virtual hammer.

This new forum for international art should make art lovers reach for the mouse since work by the following luminaries of modern art will be featured: Max Ackermann, Horst Antes, Elvira Bach, Eduard Barheer, Ernst Barlach, Willi Baumeister, Joseph Beuys, Peter Brüning, Alexander Calder, Marc Chagall, Lovis Corinth, Karl Fred Dahmen, Otto Dix, Lucio Fontana, Sam Francis, Günter Fruhtunk, Klaus Fussmann, Rupprecht Geiger, HAP Grieshaber, George Grosz, Renato Guttuso, Karl Otto Götz, Hans Hartung, Karl Hofer, Alfred Hrdlicka, Friedensreich Hundertwasser, Horst Janssen, Allen Jones, Asger Jorn, Wassily Kandinsky, Alexander Koester, Oskar Kokoschka, Käthe Kollwitz, Le Corbusier, Wilhelm Lehmbruck, Roy Lichtenstein, Fernand Léger, Markus Lüpertz, Ewald Mataré, Henri Matisse, Joan Miró, Piet Mondrian, Henry Moore, Otto Mueller, Ernst Wilhelm Nay, A.
